Thanks for being patient! It took us longer than expected to get through all of the entries from our Diver Bites July ID Challenge.
No one identified every one of our 16 challenge photos correctly, but several came close and two tied for top Runner's Up honors.
Congratulations to Drew & Hisayo! These two tied with 12 correct Latin names and 13 correct common names. Each will win 20% off their next diving with us and a fabulous Exmouth Diving Centre hat! Emails will be coming your way soon.

Diver Bites July ID Contest is now closed!
Thank you to all who entered and showed support for our first Diver Bites Photo ID Challenge! The contest is now officially closed.
We received some great entries and will be using the next few days to double check each answer before we announce our winners on the 31st.
We expect to have a new Diver Bites contest up and running soon, so make sure you keep checking this space. Make it easy on yourself and click Follow Blog at the top of the page, subscribe to the blog with your favourite feed, make sure to add us on Twitter and become a fan on Facebook. CONTEST REMINDER - Diver Bites - July ID Challenge

CONTEST - Diver Bites - July ID Challenge
This month's challenge is all about critter ID. All 16 images are regular sights on our dives here on the Ningaloo Reef.
We are looking for the scientific & common names (where they exist) for each of the images. One Grand Prize will be awarded for correctly identifying each image with the scientific names and common names (as used here on the Ningaloo Reef, judge's decisions are final).
Can't identify them all? Don't despair! We've also got two Runner's Up Prizes - one for correctly identifying the most scientific names and one for correctly identifying the most common names. So just do your best and get your entries in.
The contest will run from 01 July - 25 July 2009 and the results will be posted here on 31 July 2009. If we receive more than one correct entry in any category, we will award the prize to the earliest received entry, so don't dilly dally!

CONTEST - Diver Bites - WINNERS!
We're a day late in getting our winners announced and we apologise for making you wait! It was a tough decision to choose just two winners...hopefully all of you who didn't win this time 'round or who didn't get to enter will try again in our next Diver Bites Contest coming soon! On to the winners:
Our first winners are Lee & Pete. They dived with us for 9 days in April and had stunning conditions, fabulous diving and more creatures than one could reasonably expect to see, even here! Every day they came back to the shop with rave reviews of the dives and of our crew. They're back home now but dreaming of getting another chance to revisit the outstanding Ningaloo Reef. After all of the big guys they saw (I think they went out on our Whale Shark Adventures three times!), something tells me it was our smallest jewels that captured their hearts.
Our second winner is Jon. he went out on our Muiron Islands/West Side full day on a less than ideal sea condition day - lots of swell and a bit breezy made the surface conditions a bit choppy and definitely made being under the water the preferred place to be!
Just a quickie to say a big thanks for an excellent dive under less than ideal conditions last Wednesday. I’m writing this because I’m all too aware that satisfied customers all too often vanish into the ether without giving you any ‘strokes’, and the only feedback a company gets is a kicking from those with gripes and bones to pick. Your whole team was a credit to the company; they looked after your brand beautifully, and they were approachable, enthusiastic, helpful and diligent (for me, those guys putting a top feast together in a small space, on a roiling swell surrounded by divers and gear, now that’s diligence.) They were all pretty young too, and customer service can be a skill which takes years to acquire and perfect. Your team had an excellent mix of professionalism and engaging personalities. My dive guide was Kerry [one of our dive masters in training]. She was amazing.
And to quote Forrest Gump, ‘that’s all I’ve got to say about that’ except, I will of course recommend you guys around and about.

CONTEST - Diver Bites
I had an awesome time on the Ningaloo Reef!
We’re announcing our first ever Diver Bites contest here on our new blog and you can be a winner! Diver Bites are our dedicated blog posts from those of you who have dived and snorkeled with us – whether it was today, last week, last year or years ago – we love to hear from you.
Our first contest is “I had an awesome time on the Ningaloo Reef!” – pretty much anything goes as long as it’s from one of your tours or courses with us here at Exmouth Diving Centre. It could be recent or it could be from ages back. All you need to do is submit your best experience or your favourite photo from your recent tours with us. Make sure to include which tour (or course) you did and the date (if you remember!). It’s that easy.
We will sort through the submissions and pick one lucky winner in each category (one story and one photo). Winners will have their story and/or photo posted on our blog and receive a nifty prize, too! Other contributors may also see their story and/or photos published on the blog with their name in lights. If you have your own blog, web site or web gallery and would like us to include that link with your story/photos, just add it to your contribution.
This contest is open from today until 15 May 2009 and the winners will be published on 28 May 2009.
Send your stuff to us at this email with GREAT TIME ON NINGALOO in the subject line. Please make sure your photos are web size, if possible – jpg, 650 pixels on the longest side, and under 200kbs works fabulously (if you don’t know how to change the size of your photos, we’ll do it for you).
